Project Paperclip was the code name for the repatriation of more than 1500 Nazi Scientists to America at the end of World War 2. There is a wealth of information now available on this subject, much of it from declassified documents.
America brought the best of German scientists to the States as quickly as they could at the end of the war. Concerned that the Russians would get hold of the brain power, they expedited the removal of engineers, rocket-scientists, technicians, doctors, many of whom were registered members of the NAZI party.
We now know that many were taken into Russia (around 2,000) and there is now quite a bit of information that many, actually, were taken to Antartica.

NAZI Rocket scientist, Wernher von Braun, earlier classified as seriously dangerous, ended up being Director of Marshall Space Flight Center from 1960 to 1970.
Kurt H. Debus, and Arthur Rudolph, as well as physician Hubertus Strughold, were all labeled a "menace to the security of the Allied Forces." These men and many more were acquired and assimilated into top level American society, influencing everything from the the Apollo Program to Psychiatry to USA's Alphabet Agencies.
The phrase Sieg Heil, or Hail Victory, is now illegal in Germany and the use of the NAZI salute is a criminal offense in many countries around the world.
Originally called Operation Overcast or Operation Paperclip, Project Paperclip got its name from the paperclips that were used to keep the documents and the passports of each applicant clipped together.
